FAQs ing

How can I sign up to receive information about the Virtual School and their courses?

In order to receive our Newsletters with all the information about upcoming courses, available scholarships and other news about the Virtual School, you must become a Friend of the School. To do this, please register in the following link:

http://undpschool.org/en/component/users/?view=registration

How can I register in a course I am interested in?

The Virtual School develops most of their courses in partnership with UNDP country offices, other UN agencies, universities, and NGO’s among other organizations. Therefore, not all our courses are open to the general public. Courses that have registrations available for the public will be announced through our Newsletter.

If you are interested in enrolling in one of these courses, you must first register as a Friend of the School on the following link:

http://undpschool.org/en/component/users/?view=registration (if you have already registered please disregard this step).

You will receive a notification in your email confirming your registration with your username and password.

Visit www.undpschool.org and login on the top left of the screen. Once you are logged in, please click on Course enrollments under the User Menu.

You will see the inscription format, consisting of 3 simple steps. Click on the title of the course in which you wish to enroll*. Please proceed to fill each of the boxes. Remember the fields/boxes that are marked with a (*) are mandatory. Once completed, click on Submit.

The system will show a message as follows: You have successfully registered on the course: XXXXXX. The message confirms that the registration process is completed.

*The dropdown list will only show available courses at the moment.

What are the course fees?

Our course fees range from 440 to 550 USD depending on their duration. In some cases, we will have partial or full scholarships available.

What are the requirements to enroll in the courses?

The enrolment requirements vary according to each course. However, some common ones include: availability of 8 to 12 hours per week to complete course assignments, internet access during the development of the course (home, internet cafe, work) and basic computer knowledge.

Are there any scholarships available for the courses? How can I apply?

Some courses offer partial or full scholarships. Once registrations are available, we will specify the availability of scholarships and the requirements for application. The selection criteria will vary according to the scholarship you apply to. However, the criteria will be closely related to the target audience of the course, for example: women, indigenous peoples, community leaders, public officials, and people with the availability and interest, among others. The more matches you have with the student profile sought, the more likely you will be selected to receive the scholarship.

There are no available courses in the inscription format. Why?

The drop down list does not display any course titles because there are no registrations available at the moment for our courses. We suggest you become a Friend of the School in order to receive our newsletters with all the information regarding upcoming course enrollments.

Will I receive a certification upon completion of the course? What type of certification?

Once a student successfully completes a course, he/she will be able to download a digital certificate of approval directly from our platform. This certificate has all the required verification measures, as well as a security code that allows the Technical Team of the Virtual School and other interested parties to confirm its validity. For some courses, the certificate will be delivered in hard copy.

How long does a course last? How many hours of dedication do I need?

Our courses have a duration of 8 to 14 weeks. Students must dedicate on average 8 to 12 hours a week of study.

At what time do I have to participate in the courses?

Due to the virtual mode of our courses, students may participate during different hours/days at their most convenient time. There is not a definite class schedule or time for students to log in the virtual classrooms to complete their assignments or review contents. Nonetheless, there are established deadlines to turn in activities and participate in forums.

What are the thematic areas of the courses?

Our courses are specialized in 3 academic areas: Human Development, Democratic Governance, and Crisis Prevention and Early Recovery (CPR).

What payment methods are available?

Payments should be made by direct deposit or bank transfers. The deposit account varies according to the country of residence of each student. Once we finalize the selection process of students participating in a course, we will send the payment instructions.

Can I make a credit card payment or pay in different installments?

The Virtual School is not able to receive credit card payments. If required, we will evaluate a student’s condition in order to determine if he/she can complete a course payment in 2 different installments.

When can I register for a course?

We will open course registrations according to availability and demand. We invite you to register as a Friend of the School in order to receive our Newsletters with all the information about upcoming courses.

How can I be a professor for a course?

Currently, we have no vacancies available. Please register as a Friend of the School in order to receive Newsletters announcing call for applications for our expert network of consultants and professors.

Where can I find the annual course calendar?
